This series is very dark. They are called Executions because I am generally exorcising some emotional problem when I make them, and because I simply execute them with no preliminary planning or sketching. I do not know what I'm going to paint before I start, and they are all painted "alla prima" - no drawing it out, no erasing (ink doesn't allow that).
